Dr. Samady’s research focuses on several areas including:

•Use of coronary  physiology, endothelial function testing, wall shear stress calculation, intravascular ultrasound, optical coherence tomography, and near infrared spectroscopy in the Cardiac Catherterization Laboratory to assess coronary atherosclerosis, its progression,  and its affect on coronary flow after percutaneous coronary intervention.

•Assessment of the adverse effects of mental stress on atherosclerosis through evaluation of coronary hemodynamics, plaque morphology, and wall shear stress in the  Cardiac Catherterization Laboratory

•Assessment and treatment of reperfusion injury using ischemic post-conditioning in patients with ST segment elevation myocardial infarction
